Am I overcoming or surviving?

There is such a big difference between these two terms. When you survive your goal is to come out of your situation alive. You may come out of it broken, damaged, bitten, bitter, depleted but as long as you come out alive, you have survived.  The world is full of survivors.  From health issues to emotional issues, from war to relationships. The world is full of survivors.

I, in many areas of my life have been leaving in survivor mode. Thinking "if I can make it through this alive, I'm good" but the reality is that most of the time when I make it out I'm bitter and full of resentment and that my friend is dying.

On the other hand to overcome is to come out of a situation stronger and better than you were before you got in it.  If you have been dealing with drug addiction to overcome addiction will mean that you'll be stronger and that you've worked on the root of the problem making you better than you were. Overcoming takes work and intention.  The world needs less survivors and more overcomers, that for sure would make this world a better place.

Let's overcome!
