So we all have this thing called the voice box... which Wikipedia defines as "The larynx (plural larynges), colloquially known as the voice box, is an organ in the neck of mammals involved in protection of the trachea and sound production." However, I would like to give it my own special definition..."our ability to express our thoughts, vision, mission, will, story, desires, feelings and opinions." Take that Wikipedia!
Seriously though, we were all created with the ability to effectively communicate with those around us, but some of us have let our experiences, past hurts and many other things silence our voice box. In some cases we've spent our lives walking around holding this little box wrapped in wrapping paper with a little bow on it or in other cases we've even handed it out to someone else to hold. We've allowed others to speak for us and we've conformed to walking around "mute".
Some of the areas in which we've allowed others to hold our voice box are:
Relationships
Dreams
Career
Appearance
Self worth
Spirituality
Sexuality
...just to name a few...
I want to encourage you today to take that God given gift and open it. Unwrap that baby and use it to tell the world who you are, why you're here and what you've got to offer! Remember that no matter what others have told you, you too have a story to tell that could potentially change the world as we know it.
All you need to do is use your voice box...
