Three nights ago I was on stage singing during a concert, when all of a sadden my in-ear monitors went off. I couldn't hear anything.! I was singing with no reference what so ever.
This produced a sense of panic and insecurity in me because it was like walking blind folded.
The same feeling should approach us when we get disconnected from God. We should and must feel like if He doesn't guide us and if we can't hear His voice we would be walking blind folded and will be destined to perish.
We must always stay plugged in. Only with His guidance can we succeed.
