So I'm sure that by now most of you have experienced how awesome it is to drive around with a navigation system. It makes driving easier right? Well, it depends.
Let me explain...
The other day Prisilla was driving to a destination using her new navigation system. I happened to call her while she was in route so she put me on speaker and kept on her journey to what sounded like the other side of LA. Well, I found it hilarious that she was sooo nervous following the instructions so I asked her "Why don't you relax and just let it guide you?" Simple right? Just let it accomplish it's sole purpose in life... to get you to your destination the fastest way possible. She answered my clever question with a deep truth that probably all of us deal with on a daily basis... "But I can't relax when I don't know what's next! I like to be prepared and know what the next move is in advance". Wow! my life in a nutshell! How often has God told me to stay still and know that He is God and I'm sooo busy being impatient trying to plan my next three moves when all I gotta do is trust Him enough to lead me even if when I don't know what's coming next right up until I need to make my move.
Needless to say, she shut me up and got me thinking.
But then something else happened. While I was talking to her the navigation system gave her some instructions on her coming turn but she could not hear it because I was talking. Her first reaction was" "How can I turn the volume up on this thin'? I can't hear it" and then it occurred to me to tell her: "You can't hear because you're trying to listen to too many voices. Why don't I hang up so you can FOCUS on the instructions so you can get there on time." To what she said: "Wow! Milca that's deep! How often are we trying to fulfill our live's purpose and get so frustrated because we can't seem to understand what we need to do all because we are listening to sooo many different voices along the way?". Exactly! We listen to friends, colleagues and family who may have the best intentions but frankly don't really have the big picture in sight but just whatever is in front of them.
So what are the two lessons to remember from her trip?
1 - Be still and know that He is God and He has the best view of the big picture that is your life.
2 - Stay focused on Him and don't get distracted by the many voices around lest you miss the next set of instructions to turn.
Peace,
Milca
