An evil under our noses

Did you know that approximately 200,000 american children are at risk of being abducted, trafficked or sexually exploited?


Did you know that the sex trade industry generates approximately $23 Billion dollars in annual profit?


Did you know that it's happening right under our noses?  Right here in the United States?  In your neighborhood? 


I understand that for some people this is a hard pill to swallow and I totally get it because that was me before.  Turning my head or changing the channel was the easy thing to do because the topic of "Human Trafficking" was way too cruel for my "very sheltered" life.  Plain and simple, it made me uncomfortable! But then I realized that if we all turned our heads or changed the channel when the topic was being discussed, then more children would continue to be "invisible".  More women would be held against their will in sexual servitude.  IT WOULD NOT STOP!  And that could be my daughter, my sister, my niece, my son, me.  It could be me.


You see, you don't have to do a lot! All you need to do is educate yourself on the topic and talk about it.  Create awareness!  Don't you know that the first step towards eradicating something is by first exposing it?  When you know something, your eyes are opened to it in a whole new way!  You can't ignore it!


Let's make it a point to learn about it, talk about it and be a change agent by supporting the organizations that are fighting it.
